Improv skills have a lot of overlap with life skills. Learning improv can help with extemporaneous speaking, identifying body language and subtext, as well as engaging in intelligent discussions or discourse. With Verb the Noun we help you to listen, learn, and support your scene partners - all skills that can translate into the real world.
Many people will cite "yes, and" as a fundamental rule of improv. However, at Verb the Noun, we encourage you to "Agree and Add" - the same idea, but framed differently to shift our mindset. Our number one rule is to support one another, followed closely by having fun! While we don't like rules, we know that the human mind likes to cling to things, so at the end of the day we would consider the following to be our "rules":
Support each other
Have fun
Agree and Add
Justify, Justify, Justify
